The Mountain View Stud-based stallion Julius Caesar clearly took the siring honours at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday (October 3) with a winning double.

Our Smart Caesar (1:52.5) and Iam Mr Brightside (1:55.9), a pair of NZ bred sons of Julius Caesar, won consecutive races at the premier meeting.

Both showed blazing speed to lead, then hand up and outsprint their rivals at the end.

Our Smart Caesar, who peeled off a flying 54.7 seconds last half, has now won nine races and $74,386 n stakes.

While Iam Mr Brightside’s share of the $31,800 Group 3 Free-for-all purse pushed his earnings to almost $200,000.  He has won 16 of his 46 starts to date.

Julius Caesar was also represented by the impressive Invercargill winner last Saturday in Not Bad, a 5YO gelding making only his second appearance.
