AT A time of the year when most kids her age are wondering what presents they will receive in the coming weeks, Jorja Glynn is focused on what she can give.

Having heard about a certain program for cancer patients, the remarkable South Australia youngster has decided to make a donation.

What makes Glynn’s effort even more amazing is the eight-year-old will be cutting off her beautiful golden tresses.

Glynn will then donate her hair to Angel Wigs, which specialises in wigs for those suffering hair loss as a result of their treatment.

“I’m not 100 per cent sure what prompted her, whether she saw it in the paper or it was something talked about here at home, but she decided she wants to do it,” proud mum Jodie said.

“She has always been a caring little girl and wants to cut her hair to give to a child who has lost their hair because of cancer.

“Jorja never met her grandmother, Helen, who died of cancer, but knows all about it and her.

“Our property is called Samara Stables, with the Samara moniker used in our horses as the last horse Helen owned was Samara Boy.”

Helen is the mother of Jorja’s father, Mount Schank-based reinsman, Jason.

Glynn will be ‘clipped’ during tonight’s Mount Gambier meeting, with the club also donating money to the cause.

Hoping to raise $500 as part of her contribution, Jorja’s tally is edging closer to $1000!

“She has already passed her target of $500, which is quite a lot for a little girl, and is closing in on $1000,” Jodie said.

“I’m such a proud mum, and being close to Jason’s heart, he is very proud of his daughter.”
