RACE 3 – INTER DOMINION HEAT ONE
The draw points to SOHO TRIBECA (2) finding the front and winning. He’s flying, but hasn’t faced a horse anywhere near as good as Lazarus yet. But, in front, around Gloucester Park over 2130m is a massive advantage. LAZARUS (9) couldn’t have drawn worse, will almost certainly have to sit parked and faces one of his biggest challenges. DEVENDRA (1) should trail leader and be big place hope. SHANDALE (6) and MR MOJITO (8) are next best.
SUGGESTED BET: Soho Tribeca to win at $2 or better
RACE 4 – NORMS DAUGHTER
Can’t go past flying Victorian mare AMERETTO (7). Won nine of past 10 and the other run was second to Lennytheshark in Victoria Cup. Can sit parked and still be too good. A PICCADILLY PRINCESS (12) is the threat despite a back row draw. Needs the pace on. Will be flying late. IDEAL ALICE (1) looks the leader, but isn’t going as well at this time last year. Place only. MY RONA GOLD (5) is the X-factor. Fast beginner, been running super times in Sydney.
SUGGESTED BET: Ameretto to win at $2.80 or better
RACE 5 – INTER DOMINION HEAT TWO
Be stunned is LENNYTHESHARK (3) doesn’t just waltz to the lead and win. Going as well as ever and this field not strong. TIGER TARA (7) the other class runner, but likely to sit parked. Clear second pick. MOTU PREMIER (9) is flying, but drawn horribly and up in grade. Place hope. MAJORDAN (1) and OHOKA PUNTER (6) can place.
SUGGESTED BET: MOTU PREMIER the place if $3 or better
RACE 6 – 4YO CLASSIC
Not as simple as it seems. If ULTIMATE MACHETE (1) leads then he wins easily. If not, he is very vulnerable. Genuine chance WARDAN EXPRESS or ROCK DIAMONDS (5) could cross early. If so, it’s game on. Loads of upset hopes if ULTIMATE MACHETE is crossed, headed by: HERRICK ROSSEVELT (11), WRAPPERS DELIGHT (2), MOTU METEOR (9).
SUGGESTED BET: WARDAN EXPRESS the place at $4.50 or better.
RACE 7 – INTER DOMINION HEAT THREE
Can’t take the crazy short odds about CHICAGO BULL (2) even though he looks the leader. Has been $1.40 into $1.18. Suspect emerging Victorian talent SAN CARLO (6) will pour the pressure on and make it a hot contest. Can see an upset. HAVE FAITH IN ME (5) could get his chance coming from off the pace. Keep MAJOR CROCKER (10) safe as well. Even GALACTIC STAR (7) has a hope. And EGODAN (1) could place.
SUGGESTED BET: Something on HAVE FAITH IN ME at $7 or better.
