In previous editions the Indigenous Drivers Invitational has been a stand-alone feature at Tabcorp Park Menangle’s Fisher’s Ghost Meeting but not this year.
For the first time, penalty-exempt heats will be held at Dubbo on September 13 and at Wagga on October 17.
Nominations for Dubbo’s meeting this Sunday close on Wednesday and nine Indigenous drivers have been confirmed for the race. The drivers are:
Danny Gibson;
James Sutton;
Mckayler Barnes;
Jeff Brown;
Andrew Lincoln;
Jimmy Brown;
Jessica Prior;
Nathan Giles;
Bruce O’Brien.
The Michael Brown Planning Strategies-sponsored feature is now in its fifth year and the winning driver and the runner-up driver from these heats will be invited to contest the $10,000 penalty-exempt final at Menangle’s Fisher’s Ghost Meeting on Sunday November 1.
