bb2 - image001Friday night at Gloucester Park the sensational 4 year old Beaudiene Boaz by Nevele R sire Badlands Hanover, broke a long standing race record when he sizzeled over the 1730 metres in a mile rate of 1:52.9 to take out the Group 2 Village Kid Sprint.

Beaudiene Boaz is now favourite for the Fremantle Cup this Friday and the WA Pacing Cup the following week.

Beaudiene Boaz, starting a $1.60 favourite in the Village Kid Sprint, rated 1:52.9 and eclipsed the 1:53.00 race record set by Has The Answers in 2010.

Gary Hall senior trained the first four in the sprint, with My Hard Copy, John Of Arc and Waylade running second, third and fourth. The trainer’s reinsman son, Gary Jr, said he did not fully extend Beaudiene Boaz, who led all the way and beat My Hard Copy by 2.5m.

Queensland raider Avonnova, who raced outside Beaudiene Boaz, faded to run last.

Harness Racing NSW has invited Beaudiene Boaz’s connections to start him in the Chariots Of Fire (1609m) at Menangle on February 13.

Run Oneover, by another Nevele R stallion in Changeover and  also trained by Hall Sr, looked set for bigger targets when he scored a final-stride victory in the $23,000 Village Kid Sprint Consolation (1730m).

The four-year-old, starting at $5.30, won by a short half head from pacemaker Mach Alert ($6.30) and Smokey The Bandit ($3.90) finished 1m away in third place.
