Star young reinsman Cameron Hart will head to Newcastle today still on a high after winning the biggest race of his career.
The 24-year-old has won some of Australia’s most prestigious races like the Inter Dominion, however, Hart had his biggest monetary victory when winning the inaugural Nullarbor slot race at Gloucester Park last Friday.
Hart partnered with the Jason Grimson-trained Betterzippit.
“It can’t get any better than that, it feels unbelievable,” said Hart.
“We just missed out on the first one in New Zealand (The Race By Grins) so to come over here and get the first one in WA is unbelievable.”
Betterzippit has now won six of his seven starts in Grimson’s care.
“He’s so good and that’s why we brought him over, we were pretty confident in his ability and just being such a versatile horse, you saw tonight that he got back but I was able to make a mid-race move and tough it out.”
