8Another great program of racing is scheduled for Albion Park this Saturday night.

The first of ten races scheduled to commence at 5.17pm, gates will open at 4pm and as always, its free entry.

Triple Queensland Horse of the Year Avonnova is having his final ever race start after connections announced retirement plans earlier this week.

Fittingly, the Ian Gurney trained star lines up in the feature event, the Gr.2 $50,000 Flags Of All Nations Gold Coast Cup which will be staged over the distance of 2138m.

Avonnova will start from the inside draw and aims for his 22nd victory at the track.

The Sydney trained Iam Mr Brightside looms as an obvious threat following his come from behind victory over Avonnova last week when successful in the Christmas Cup.

The combination of Kerryann Turner and Robbie Morris has enjoyed tremendous success during their summer carnival campaign.

Others to consider include Glenferrie Hood, Alleluia, Caesars Folly and the New Zealand import of Watch Pulp Fiction adds plenty of intrigue.

In the Gr.2 $40,000 Statewide Group Darrell Alexander Memorial Trotting Championship Final, talented trotter Releven Dream is aiming for a clean sweep following two excellent victories during both rounds of heats over the past fortnight.

Releven Dream is the current track record holder for 2647m.

But the opening event will be the focus of punters with a guaranteed $50,000 First 4 pool which carries a jackpot component of $10,000.

The UBET for the Thrill of It Pace features several in-form runners including last start winners A Good Chance and The Space Invader.

A guaranteed Quadrella pool of $20,000 is also programmed; the quaddie will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Again, the quaddie legs look open with several even races assembled meaning punters will get great value.

UBET also have a $10,000 guaranteed trifecta pool slated for race three while First 4 jackpots of $5000 are listed for the main events, the Gold Coast Cup (race 6) and the Darrell Alexander Memorial Trotting Championship Final (race 7).
