The Albion Park Harness Racing Club will play host to a neat nine race program this Saturday night.
And the opening race has attracted an even field of 12 pacers with several in-form runners set to contest the UBET Pace over the 1660m.
The sprint scamper features several speedy beginners and pressure will be at an extreme level while luck in running will be crucial to the outcome.
Speedy beginner Starzzz Of Icon has again drawn the front-line and will be chasing back to back Albion Park victories following its stylish display last week when successful in a mile rate of 1:55.8.
Prepared by Melissa Gillies and driven by her older brother Trent, the former Victorian mare has proven to be a great money spinner for her connections with the promise of plenty more to come.
Starzzz Of Icon is chasing her 4th win at headquarters from 14 starts while her earnings are close to $100,000.
Others to consider include The Space Invader, Abitgoingonhere, Lamorak, Corporal Luna, Floyd Mayweather, Polished Rocks, Illawong Dreamtime and Clarkey.
Another highlight is the Seymour Group Open Pace over 1660m which features the likes of Majestic Major, Overlap, Ideal Scott, Glenferrie Hood, Alleluia and Destreos.
Glenferrie Hood is a last start winner at this track in a time of 1:52.0.
Many of the open class performers are heading to next week’s feature, the $20,000 Flashing Red – a raced staged from the stand start and run over the staying distance of 2647m.
Flashing Red was a dual New Zealand Cup winner (2006/07) and was raced by Stuart Hunter and Norm Jenkin.
Gambling giant UBET are offering several jackpots throughout the program including a guaranteed $50,000 First 4 pool on the opening race plus a $10,000 jackpot.
A guaranteed Quadrella of $20,000 is also slated; the quaddie will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.
UBET have also slated $2000 jackpot trifecta pools on races 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7.
