The Albion Park Harness Racing Club is where punters need to focus this Saturday night.
And gambling giant UBET is offering plenty of reasons to do your homework.
A guaranteed $200,000 trifecta pool is being staged on the opening event, the Supporting Qld Racing? UBET Pace over 1660m which also carries a $50,000 jackpot.
Yes, a guaranteed $200,000 trifecta pool!
And given the extraordinary racing from New Zealand this week in which punters have embraced, they can either top up their accounts or bounce back with this huge guaranteed pool.
The sprint scamper has attracted a full field of 12 runners and a genuine speed looks a given with hard-running type Livinthehighlife drawing ideally.
The Donny Smith trained gelding will be handled by leading reinsman Chris Petroff and with recent minor placings, he’ll be looking to go all the way from the inside gate.
Albion Park course commentator Chris Barsby is expecting a keenly contested event and believes the race could develop into a leader/behind leader scenario owing to the barrier draw.
“I have no doubt that Livinthehighlife has the necessary speed to lead from the pole, I don’t think it’s a front-line that’s overloaded with pace so that’s an advantage immediately for Livinthehighlife, so that paves the way for Jester Oh Jester to gain the perfect trail behind him.” Barsby said.
Livinthehighlife is the winner of 13 races at Albion Park.
“The last two efforts from Livinthehighlife have been commendable, he led up over this distance two starts ago before succumbing to Glengowan late while he raced well last week behind Iamboogie over the middle distance of 2138m and he’s far more effective over the short trip.
“Being on the pegs at Albion Park on the Saturday night circuit is crucial because the racing is so competitive and even so therefore, runners gaining an easy trip against the pegs can gain a big advantage. So, Jester Oh Jester should race boldly from his trailing draw and is very much up to challenging Livinthehighlife via the sprint lane.
“My advice is to work your trifecta combinations around Livinthehighlife and Jester Oh Jester, a number of other runners have minor place claims. With the pool easily set to exceed $200,000 – this is a good race to be getting involved in with a trifecta combo or two.”
The first of 10 races is scheduled to start at 5.15pm.
