Leading South Australian trainer/driver Danielle Hill is counting down the sleeps before the up and coming Allwood Sale, which will take place at the Magic Millions Sales Complex, Morphettville, SA on Sunday the 11 February.
Danielle had an amazing 16/17 season finishing at the very top of the state’s premiership table for drivers plus a very credible 4th of the top trainers list.
Breach the Beach, a 3yo gelding by Somebeachsomewhere (who’s progeny is represented in the sale) had a magnificence run under Danielle’s care.
His win in the 2017 Rivergum Lodge Gawler Derby still sends shivers down my spine when watching the replay. For those of you that haven’t seen this great drive and training performance, please see the link below and click on race 3’s replay.

When we spoke to Danielle about the up and coming Allwood Stud Farm 2018 SA Yearling Sale, she had this to say:

“With what other codes have done with Racing Women iniatitives, I would love it if we could have a pool of ladies come together and set up an ownership group that targets buying the best filly in The Allwood Sale that we could train and have race here in SA ”.
Danielle makes a great point and Harness Racing, more than many other sport is littered with outstanding females that have made and continue to make a massive contribution to our code.

Don’t forget, Danielle had a wonderful run with a young mare she trained called Lis Tureen, the 19 wins form just 29 races in this country all happened while Danielle was in the driving seat.
Let’s not forget all the wonderful contributions that other ladies make to the sport that don’t drive and train. One great example here in South Australia would be Lois Randall of SA BOTRA. This women lives and breathes the sport and l would hate to try and estimate the mountains of hours she donates each and every week of her life.
With just 33 yearlings in this sale, it’s truly astonishing that they will have the opportunity to race for more than $100,000 in prizemoney when they are 2YO’S plus a 3YO series that will be very exciting and will have a high level of prizemoney that many local and interstate owners will have the opportunity to benefit from.
