FUNDRAISING for the Women’s Cancer Foundation began early at Leeton’s TAB Carnival of Cups meeting on Monday.

With fundraising for the ‘Team Teal’ campaign to start Australia-wide on February 1, the crowd at Leeton were certainly feeling festive raising $500 towards ovarian cancer research.

This was then matched by the Leeton Harness Racing Club, taking the amount raised to $1000.

However, this was equalled by Kriden Park, the sponsor of the Lady Drivers Invitational at the meeting, and then matched again by Harness Racing New South Wales, thus raising $4000 in total for the WCF.

This is a great start to the Team Teal campaign which starts on February 1 to March 11, where female harness drivers across Australia and New Zealand will wear teal coloured driving pants to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

Harness Racing NSW will donate $200 to the WCF for every official winner driven by a reinswoman in NSW during the 2018 campaign.

Harness Racing NSW will finalise the list of 2018 Ambassadors across the state and seek the support of clubs and participants in this charitable effort.
