Thursday – Forbury Park
A few long priced winners at Forbury Park on Thursday but they weren’t friendless with us and the favourites that won were well backed. The best bets were $2,000 & $1,500 on Holdon Toyaspurs @ $3.10 and a couple of Top3 bets cashed in nicely too. $750 Bound To Be Bettor @ $5.50 and $1,500 Ideal Gal @ $2.70. A couple that missed were $2,000 bets on Jeddy R Ya Ready @ $2.20 (Top3) and Mach O’Melley @ $5.80.
Friday – Addington
Derby night proved a pretty good one for punters with all 11 winners in the 10 races being in the top 3 favourites. What a fantastic race the Derby was & the best bets were a couple of Futures bets on Sheriff. $2,000 Top3 @ $3.30 in mid March and $900 @ $6.20 to win in late March provided juicy collects. $1,000 on Sheriff @ $4.50 was also good. $1,500 Turn It Up @ $4.20 & $1,000 Luby Lou @ $3.80 were the largest of a swag of bets on both of those winners. Some decent bets to miss were $5,000 Ohanzee @ $2.10, $2,800 Tennyson Bromac @ $1.80 & @ $2,500 @ $1.70 and $2,450 EW Valloria @ $7.20 & $2.60.
Friday – Auckland
A quiet night in terms of turnover at Auckland but a couple of large bets got home. $2,500 Solid Gold @ $2.90 & $1,000 Magnifique @ $3.75 (Top3). The best backed winner on the night was Delight My Soul @ $3.40-$3.20 while C K Spur held the same amount @ $2.60-$3 but only managed 4th.
Saturday – Invercargill
Punters were in form at Invercargill & they really latched onto the first starter Mighty Conquerer. $3,000 & $5,000 bets @ $2.80 were the best of the day. $3,000 Duke Of Wellington @ $3.20 was also lucrative. A let-off came for us when Jabali broke early. Whilst there weren’t any $5,000 bets on him, he held the same total amount as Mighty Conquerer @ $3.20-$2.50.
Sunday – Rangiora
Just 3 favourites got home on Sunday & there were some long priced winners. Best bet of the day was $1,000 Samskara @ $4.20 whilst $5,000 on stablemate Karmic Way went our way. $3,000 Johnny White @ $3.40 & $2,000 Officialdon @ $4 also missed the mark.
