Buyers have many different reasons and theories for purchasing yearlings and this Saturday’s APG yearling sale will be no different.

Some impulse buy from the sales ring and some dream under the Figtree where others analyse pedigrees, performances, conformation and spend countless hours looking for that x-factor.

Between 2010 and 2013, one astute buyer purchased 17 APG *yearlings for around $600,000 that have already returned over $5 million in prizemoney.

5 of these purchases were by Art Major with the others made up of mostly Bettor Delight, Courage Under Fire and Mach Three progeny.

There’s much to learn from these purchases however what is certain is that this buyer believes in these families and this has resulted in multiple champions.

5 of these dams have progeny in this Saturday’s APG sale.

1 of these is by super sire Art Major.
