Comeback pacer You’re So Fine has produced another encouraging performance on his return to racing in the Pacepix Equine Visuals Pace (2130m) at Gloucester Park yesterday.
The son of Always B Miki was expected to prove too classy in the event and that’s exactly how it played out.
Driver Stuart McDonald quickly jumped to the front from barrier four and led all the way in 1:57.9.
Yesterday’s strong performance followed his first-up win at Pinjarra last Monday.
You’re So Fine spent his whole three-year-old season on the sidelines, having finished third in the 2021 Golden Slipper as a two-year-old.
Hall Snr said the early signs were encouraging for You’re So Fine but warned there was still a long way to go.
“He went pretty well considering he’s been out for a long time,” Hall Snr told The Trots WA.
“In saying that, if he wasn’t winning that race then we’d probably be in a little bit of trouble.
“If he stays sound, I think he can get back to doing what I think he could do when we got him over here.”
Hall Snr said the immediate goal was to keep You’re So Fine sound, but indicated he could look to aim him at the Golden Nugget later this year.
Meanwhile, Hall Snr said Free-For-All pacer Finvarra was having a couple of days off after his unplaced performance of Friday night with a view to racing again next month.
