Several withdrawals have been made from the Cup in the last week, with the most upsetting of them being Christen Me who was pulled out yesterday. Trainer Cran Dalgety says a number of small issues have contributed to the scratching. Other withdrawals include the other Cran Dalgety runner Bit Of A Legend, Ideal Success and Belkmyster.
There were some small moves up the top of the board with the withdrawal of Christen Me and after some good placings in yesterday’s Kaikoura Cup by Arden Rooney, Messini & Mighty Flying Mac. But more focus is around the horses sitting around the cut-off point. The biggest mover was Te Kawau who moved from 17th into 12th after finishing in fourth in yesterday’s feature and Brilliant Strike also moved into the top fifteen after his fifth in the event. Provided there are no more withdrawals these 15 should make up the field in the 2015 event.
The Dominion rankings saw little change after yesterday’s Free-For-All at Kaikoura with just one mover in Quiet A Moment who finished 3rd in the feature pushing her up from 9th to 7th. There is still time for those ranked down the bottom of the list to try and make it into the field, but it will rely on strong runs in next Tuesdays New Zealand Trotting Free-For-All.
