A Waipā institution for over 100 years, Cambridge Raceway will undergo its most drastic redevelopment yet over the next three years.

“We have some really exciting plans underway to enrich Cambridge Raceway’s presence within our community,” Cambridge Raceway CEO Dave Branch said.

“We want to become a leading harness racing complex and also a first-choice events, business and community hub in the Waikato region.”

Those plans include upgraded rentable event and office spaces, accommodation facilities, a new multi-purpose enclosed stable complex for the horses and the BFT Gym which is set to open later this year.

The venue updates will enable Cambridge Raceway to be able to host regular entertainment and sports events, conferences and private functions in addition to additional premiere race meetings.

This follows the news last week that Cambridge Raceway is also included in discussions with the Waipā District Council regarding the development of a super sports hub.

In conjunction with the announcement of these developments Cambridge Raceway have launched two new social membership options, the Taylor Street Club and the exclusive 1609 club.

The Taylor St Club boasts an array of benefits including exclusive invitations to members only events, access to the private headquarters, a modern space located on the ground floor of the grandstand, exclusive race meeting perks, discounts with Cambridge Raceway partners and racehorse ownership opportunities.

“Our vision for the Taylor St Club is to provide an exclusive space for like-minded individuals to connect in a fun social environment,” Branch said.

Taylor Street Club membership is priced at $240 per annum or $25 per month, however if you sign up before October 31 you will receive two free months (November/December22) and get two additional passes to the Club’s Melbourne Cup Day Party.

The 1609 club is invitation only and is strictly limited to 100 people.

“1609 will provide an exclusive luxury space in the centre of our world,” Branch said. “It’s a private oasis for like-minded individuals to relax, play, connect and spark collaboration.”
