The inclement weather over the weekend has delayed the re-construction works on the Gloucester Park track and accordingly the meeting scheduled for Friday 26th June will now be run at Bunbury.
The scheduled Gloucester Park meeting on Monday 29th June will now be run at Pinjarra.
Racing will now return to Gloucester Park on Friday 3rd July 2015.
The return to racing at the newly re-cambered circuit will also see changes to barrier draw configurations commencing on Friday 3rd July.
- For 1730 metre races, fields will have a maximum field size of nine (9) starters plus two (2) emergencies which will be drawn in the field. The field will start in a single line of nine across the track.
- For 2130, 2536 and 2936 metre races there will be a maximum field size of 12 starters with nine (9) on the front line and three (3) on the second line.
- The starting Format for fields greater than nine (9) starters will see use of the 9×3 Preferential Draw Weighting which is as follows: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 5, 6, 7, 12, 8, 9
- There will be no changes to standing start race formats
These changes have been initiated by Gloucester Park Harness Racing and are being trialled in light of research which identified an overt barrier and leader bias with the 7×5 format over the 9×3 format used previously.
