Dance Time, one of the outsiders for next Tuesday’s IRT New Zealand Cup, has warmed up for the big race with an all the way trial win at Addington.

The six-year-old gelding, trained by Steve and Amanda Telfer and driven by Craig Thornley, led from the outset yesterday, recording 2:26.6 for the 1980m (last 800 58.1, last 400 27.1).

On the fixed odds market Dance Time, who will start off the unruly on Tuesday, is paying $81 for the win and $17 for the place. The Telfers had three in the trial with Kerri Maguire (3rd) and Darling Me (8th).

Franco Indie, who will start favourite in Tuesday’s Group One Woodlands Stud Sires’ Stakes Series Final, was fourth.

Mark Purdon didn’t push Franco Indie, settling seven back the fence before getting into the one-one and then running on for fourth.  Two of his rivals on Tuesday, stable-mate Franco Mac and Cantfindabettorman also won their respective trials yesterday.
