SHE hasn’t raced in four months but following her head-turning trial at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Tuesday talented mare Arms Of An Angel is ready to race.
‘Team Tritton’ has earmarked the Group Three Les Chant Cup on September 24 at Menangle as her most likely debut for the season.
“After the Les Chant Cup there is the Ranji Bill Stakes for her and we’ll be aiming to contest a lot of those mares’ races with her,” trainer Shane Tritton said.
“This whole preparation she has been sick and unhealthy and it may take a few starts for her to get going.”
However, it looked as though Arms Of An Angel has put that setback behind her after rating a slick 1:50.6 in her recent official hit-out.
“She pulled-up super after that,” Tritton said.
“I had not planned on her going that hard at the trials but she had other ideas.
“We were going to trial her again but if she is going to go that hard we may as well put her around in a race.”
After a big season progressing from a C0 to Grand Circuit company, Arms Of An Angel looks to have another big year ahead.
The Ladyship Mile or the Miracle Mile are the long term aims while Tritton has nominated the daughter of Elsu for the Inter Dominion along with stablemate Lombo Kotakinabalu and others.
“I’ve nominated a few for the Inter Dominion and we’ll assess things in a month,” Tritton said.
“We’ll see how strong the series will be and where the horses rank and take it from there.”
