The Palmerston North Gold Cup Festival will be held from March 28 to 31st in the region.
On the 29th we are making available to the public some tables in a VIP area.
It will be a secure area is outside in the birdcage (the area in front of the secretary’s office). There will be tables of 8-10 people.
Cost is $40 per person which gives you:
– Free course admission
– Four drinks vouchers then a cash bar available.
– Continuous Cuisine BBQ.
– Heaters will be on hand.
– Premier location to view races

Forbury Park – Thursday 29 March
This meeting starts at 5.23pm and features Heat 6 of the Nevele R Stud Fillies Series. There will be a $40,000 Pick Six in operation.
Our Bistro will be open from 4pm – serving a range of delicious meals!
Weather forecast is good, and Friday is a holiday – so would love to see people on-course. Entry is free.
Addington Raceway – Saturday 31 March
EASTER SATURDAY DAY RACES– GREAT FAMILY DAY OUT WITH FREE ENTERTAINMENT FOR KIDS
Be sure to hop along to Addington to enjoy a fun filled day! Race 1 is at 12.43pm, however Spectators will be open from 10.00am.
Mr Whippy, a bouncy castle, Balloon Maker Silly Billy (2.15pm – 4.15pm) and a Easter egg hunt have all been organised. Not to mention Easter Bunny will make an appearance for a kids Easter egg scramble!
Great races have been programmed! From two Kidz Kartz Races (2.00pm & 2.35pm) to the prestigious Group One $100,000 Breckon Farms All Stars Racing Stables Easter Cup. We have amazing dining options on offer, as well as our Chef ensuring we have plenty of our fabulous Hot Cross Buns available for everyone.
YALDHURST HOTEL PUNTERS CHALLENGE – 6 APRIL – BE IN TO WIN $4,000
Entry Fee $610 per team (maximum 4 per team). $10 per team going to our charities of choice (St John & Ronald McDonald House South Island).

Our FunRaiser is a great night out and a simple and easy way to raise money. For every ticket you sell, you keep $10.00 of the ticket price for your fund raising. Hawera Easter Family Fun Meeting – 31 March, 2 April
The Hawera Harness Racing Club invites you to be a part of their Easter Family Fun Meeting to be held on Saturday 31 March and Monday 2 April (Easter Monday).
Club President Brendan Towers describes the meeting as a ‘trainer’s weekend away’ and explains that the club are there to make the meeting an enjoyable one for all who attend.
“We will be holding dinner and entertainment for connections that are at the meeting on the Friday and Saturday nights, and are also here to assist with anything needed for horses and those connected with them,” said Towers. “We can help you find the right hotel or accommodation option, just get in touch and we will happily help.”
The grass track meeting features the Hawera Cup and will be focused on family entertainment too, with free entry on both days and bouncy castles and plenty to keep the kids amused.

Banks Peninsula – Monday 2 April
The Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s Easter meeting will be held this Monday at Motukarara Racecourse.
Methven Owners’ Day and Expo – Sunday 15 April
The Methven Trotting Club will hold an Owners Day at their April race meeting to be held at Mt Harding Racecourse on Sunday 15 April.
The club warmly invites industry merchants and also fellow club administrators to attend the event and be a part of their owner’s experience and expo at the meeting.
Already Alexandra Park and Southern Harness have registered their interest to attend the meeting to promote racing at their clubs.
There has also been strong interest from local trainers with ownership opportunities, willing to present these options to oncourse patrons.
The club wishes to reward owners with a horse in at their meeting by hosting them in the Mt Hutt Lounge oncourse. They will also invite owners from the region to attend and offer special catering options on the day for them, and encourage non owners to come along and find out how they can become a part of the action.
