$15 A La Carte Dining – Choose from 5 of our divine dishes that are available in the Christian Cullen Lounge, located on level 1 of the Metropolitan Stand. (Gluten free and vegetarian options available).

Stables BBQ – Enjoy a bite to eat from the Stables BBQ. Whether it is a juicy burger or a pottle of chips, your hunger cravings will be satisfied. The BBQ is located at the stables entrance directly beside the Lindauer Lawn.

Invercargill – Saturday 27 January  

Seven nights at the Peninsular Beachfront Resort in Mooloolaba is the big prize at the Invercargill Harness Racing Club’s Cup Day at Ascot Park Raceway on Saturday 27 January.

That is the major prize for the Ladies Fashion In The Field (for Ladies 18 years and over) at the Ascot Park Hotel Invercargill Cup Day. To enable the winners to get to Mooloolaba the Beach Road Holiday Camp in Invercargill has donated $1000 worth of travel. The Fashion In The Field is a Ladies competition only and is just one of the great activities on course for the club’s glamour day of the season.

The premier races on a great day of harness racing are the Ascot Park Hotel Invercargill Cup and the Arden Lodge Robin Dundee Crown with eleven races planned and an expected start time of 12 noon.

Admission is free and one of the great competitions planned is the very popular ‘The Bets In The Bag’ where patrons can fill out a coupon which can be found in the Southland Times or Southland Express next week. Simply fill out your name and contact details, drop the coupon into the bucket in the main foyer at the course to go in the draw to win one of several betting vouchers of no less than $100 to use on the day.

For the kids the entertainment is all free and includes mini jeeps, kids tote, a running race with a mobile start, sack races and more.

Hospitality options are still available on what promises to be one of the best race days of the year in the south.

 

Tauranga – Sunday 28 January

Part of the Interislander Summer Festival the Waikato Bay of Plenty Harness Racing Club racing at Tauranga will give the kids an end-of-school-holiday treat.

A fun family day out, or great gathering for friends, rally your clan together, pack a picnic or sample the local fare and wine on offer and get set for a fun day in the sun.

With free kids entertainment, live music and thrilling harness racing, you’ll find something to entertain kids of all ages.

The Tauranga Cup will be the feature event on the card, and Kidz Kartz will be oncourse.

 

Banks Peninsula – Sunday 28 January 

The Interislander Summer Festival meeting at Motukarara this Sunday will be a racing and sports fan’s paradise.

Four prominent Canterbury sportsmen will taste competition of another kind when they take part in a dual sulky event, and the 2017 Super Rugby Trophy will also be oncourse for those who wish to get close to a piece of sporting history in the region.

And USA Harness Racing Hall of Fame driver, David Miller, will experience grass track racing with two drives currently confirmed for the North American visitor.

Free kids entertainment includes Kids Go Racing activities, face painting and bouncy castle. Live music will feature from John McCabe and a Punters Club will run from Race three.
