Tabcorp Park Melton is gearing up for its Christmas themed race meeting this Saturday night, December 19 and there are plenty of activities on and off the track to keep old and young alike in the festive spirit.
A quality 10-race card is set down for Saturday Night with the headline events being the Group 1 Empire Stallions Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Finals for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings and the separate Group 1 Vicbred Home Grown Final for three-year-old trotting fillies. The three-year-old pacing fillies will also be showcased in the Group 3 Harness Breeders Victoria Gold Chalice.
Off the track there will be plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. There will be a free jumping castle on the home straight lawn and Santa Claus will be making an appearance during the night handing out lollies and treats to the kids.
Pony trots will also be conducted in between races and the annual Pony Trot Christmas Parade will also take place where the Pony Trot youngsters dress themselves and their Ponies in a Christmas themed parade out on the track.
With hot weather forecast for Saturday, an outdoor bar will keep all patrons hydrated and refreshed throughout what is likely to be a warm evening at the track on Saturday night.
For the adults that are looking to party on after the races have finished, live band Redline will be playing in the Sportsbar after the last race through until late.
