15New Zealand-bred stallion Zacharia has managed just one second and two thirds from 18 starts at Gloucester Park. But he is favourably drawn at the No. 2 barrier on the front line in the 2536m mobile event at Gloucester Park on Friday night and is expected to be one of the main fancies.

He has raced only once at Gloucester Park in his past 18 starts which include two wins at Northam and successes at Kellerberrin and Kalgoorlie. He is prepared by Greg and Skye Bond, currently the leading trainers in Western Australia with 75 winners this season, and will be driven by in-form reinsman Colin Brown.

Zacharia will meet moderate opposition and Brown is expected to attempt an all-the-way win. Brown’s first task will be to get Zacharia past the polemarker Terraforce, who has been unplaced at his seven starts since showing ability as a pacemaker with an all-the-way victory over 1684m at Pinjarra early last March.

Bounty Eyre, a stablemate of Zacharia, also has claims from his ideal draw on the inside of the back line. He won three times from four starts early this season and his recent form has been fair. He will be driven by Ryan Warwick.

Walter James, Qtown Rip Roaring, Avalon Bromac, Jungleface Jake, Lord Lexus, Always Arjay and Mister John Jones have shown flashes of form recently and all are capable of winning in what should be a wide-open betting race.
