Ace reinsman Colin Brown continues to excite harness racing fans with his daring and dashing frontrunning drives and he will be all out to enhance his reputation as a master of pacemaking tactics when he handles the speedy Just Bet On Black in the www.gloucesterpark.com.au Pace over the sprint journey of 1730m at Gloucester Park tomorrow night.
Faithful Brown devotees have cashed in handsomely in the first two months of the 2017-18 season by supporting his recent all-the-way winners Shes Artful, Eden Franco, Tyler Brett and Sokys Bigbullet.
Just Bet On Black, a black New Zealand-bred five-year-old, has notched three of his seven West Australian victories by leading all the way and Brown will be hellbent on taking full advantage of the No. 1 barrier on Friday night.
Just Bet On Black has been unplaced at his past five starts after his first 24 starts produced ten wins, five seconds and three thirds. However, he makes particularly strong appeal from the inside barrier on Friday night.
His only serious rival appears to be four-year-old Im Rockaria, who faces a stern test from out wide at barrier eight. Im Rockaria, trained at Blythewood by Michael Brennan, will be driven by Chris Voak.
Voak was in the sulky when Im Rockaria took full advantage of the No. 1 barrier by setting the pace and fighting on with grim determination to win by half-head from the strong-finishing Dredlock Rockstar over 1609m in 1.53.6 at Donaldson Park in Bunbury last Saturday night.
Im Rockaria sprinted over the final quarters in 27.4sec. and 27.6sec. in chalking up the twelfth victory from 22 starts.
Other pacers expected to excel as frontrunners and likely winners on Friday night are Thereugo from barrier five in the 2130m Manta Tiling Westbred Final and Mach Time from barrier two in the 2130m TABtouch Inter Dominion Starts November 24 Pace.
