10Saturday 16th January was a good night for vendors at the 2016 Gloucester Standardbreds WA Yearling Sale with three winners with half-brothers or half-sisters in the catalogue including a pair of new winners.

Luminosa brought up his fifth win, took his stakes to almost $30,000, and lowered his mark to 1:57.1 when winning his first race for new trainer/driver Kristian Hawkins at the Northam Cup meeting.

Laurie Kennedy’s Brook Park Standardbreds will sell a half-brother to Luminosa by the multi-millionaire sire Artistic Fella.

In addition to Luminosa this colt is a half-brother to Dardy Delight 1:58.2 $116,584.

Interestingly the best of Artistic Fella’s 51 winners is the 2013 Australian 2yo Filly of the Year Mindarie Priddy 1:53.8 $284,659.

Lot 13 is out of the sub-2:00 Armbro Operative mare Spring Carnival. The now defunct Mindarie Priddy was also out of an Armbro Operative mare.

The Jeremes Jet gelding Gangbuster won the last race at Northam for trainer Kat Warwick and driver Stuart McDonald to bring up his first win rating 1:58.7 for the 1780 metres.

Gangbuster has a Shadow Play half-brother out of former good race-mare Hello Boys catalogued as Lot 83 for vendor Debra Lewis.

Hello Boys is now the dam of five winners including the very smart Kiss Chasey 1:55.3 $127,048.

The last race at Albany on Saturday night also saw another new winner with a half relation in the 2016 WA Yearling Sale.

Telegraph Love was a impressive winner for holidaying Tammin trainer David Goulden and driver Lang Inwood and John Coffey’s Patrician Park will offer a half-sister by Lincoln Royal from Living On Love as Lot 2 on February 21st.

Living On Love is a half-sister to eight winners including Golden Slipper Stakes runner-up Chivalrous Fella 1:55.5 $271,809 and a full-sister to Here Comes Zoe 1:55.2 $111,446.

Lincoln Royal – a former New Zealand 3yo Colt of the Year and Auckland Cup winner – has his first crop of 104 foals being offered across Australia and New Zealand at this year’s sale.
