It has been a big year for Hunter Valley reinsman Blake Hughes and he is on the verge of another milestone.
The 20-year-old is just one win shy of breaking a century of wins for the season, a feat he achieved in the 2019/20 season where he rounded out the term with 121 wins.
These results contributed to another milestone for Hughes last week where he drove his 300th career winner following success with the pacer Mustang Milly at Newcastle.
Hughes heads to Maitland tonight for six drives, including in two heats of the Inter City Pace.
The $30,000 final will be held on December 30 and Hughes’ two hopes of getting into the feature rest with recent Newcastle winner Daniel Boom and Menangle pacer Hands On.
There are four heats of the Inter City Pace tonight – a race series that has been held for 60 years.
