Riverina horsewoman Ellen Bartley has two chances of winning the race named in her honour at Wagga today.
Bartley has her horses Miss Chantilly and Sportingjoy engaged in the Happy Birthday Ellen Bartley Pace (race eight) at Riverina Paceway.
Bartley will take the reins behind Sportingjoy who has won her last two starts, while Blake Jones will drive Bartley’s other pacer.
Bartley has trained 35 winners this season including three races with her promising pacer Brooklyn Bridge.
The gelding won a heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge at Albury on Tuesday with Bartley stating: “Brooklyn Bridge makes the cold mornings worth it.”
The three-year-old won his qualifier by more than 15m.
The iForm best bets for Friday:
Newcastle best bet
Race 7: Chatherup (3)
Consistent prior to a layoff and will prove hard to stop trialling okay at Newcastle.
Newcastle next best
Race 3: Lynton Creek (7)
Don’t treat lightly thereabouts without threatening against stronger opposition at his past couple.

Wagga best bet
Race 8: National News (8)
Big in defeat last time and while he probably will have to work again, this time he may not have to run such a fast third quarter.
