Time has proven that APG has an unmatched reputation as Australia’s leading source of outstanding juvenile talent. As such, plenty of eager owners and trainers will be working hard over the next 12 months in the lead up to the massive $2.4 million on offer for these yearlings that have been sold over the last 60 days to compete for.
As one highly successful buyer suggests, “APG is a trusted organisation and their sales are the launching pad for our harness racing stars of tomorrow”.
It is a hard point to argue. After all, last year, APG Sales Graduates scooped up five of the six Australian “Pacer of the Year” awards, including:
• Be Happy Mach – Australian 2yo Pacing Colt of the Year
• Maajida – Australian 2yo Pacing Filly of the Year
• Max Delight – Australian 3yo Pacing Colt of the Year
• No Win No Feed – Australian 3yo Pacing Filly of the Year; and
• Pistol Abbey – Australian Aged Pacing Mare of the Year
Throw in the fact that APG Sales Graduates won five of the six pacing Divisions in the 2yo, 3yo & 4yo Breeders Crown Finals, both the NSW & Victoria Derbies, plus 13 State-bred Finals. It is easy to see why so many of Australia’s leading owners and buyers look to APG for their next champion.
The Perth sale, as an example, will have approximately 100 horses eligible, that will compete for $650,000 worth of riches as 2yo, 3yo, and 4yo’s.
Comparatively the Brisbane sale has just 35 horses eligible for the $100,000 Brisbane Sales race, an additional $350,000 is also on offer for the APG graduates in the north.
With added bonus the Melbourne and Sydney sales graduates will collectively compete for more than $1.3 million.
