AUSTRALIAN Pacing Gold welcomed three new Group One winners to its ever growing list at Menangle yesterday.
Making a swift transition through the grades this season, Goodtime Heaven was responsible for arguably the biggest performance of the afternoon on her way to capturing a Breeders’ Challenge Final.
Caught three-wide early, Goodtime Heaven then raced in the ‘death seat’ as defending champion, Molly Kelly, led.
Proving too strong, the three-year-old completed a tough 1:52.1 win from Molly Kelly and Callmequeenbee in what was an APG eligible trifecta.
Trained by Courtney Slater, Goodtime Heaven boasts eight wins from nine starts this term.
A dual Group One placegetter, Miss Halfpenny registered a well-deserved top shelf triumph in the Two-Year-Old Fillies’ Final.
After working to the lead from barrier four, Miss Halfpenny proved too slick for her rivals, scoring in 1:55.2 for trainer Paul Fitzpatrick.
Splitting the two fillies on the card was quality freshman Hardhitter, which improved his impressive record to four wins and a second from six starts.
Prepared by Emma Stewart – who also trains Molly Kelly – Hardhitter set the pace on his way to a 1:51.6 victory.
