KEPT fresh since her recent Group One success, Nostra Beach is favoured to add to her impressive tally at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday night.
Despite drawing the inside of the back row, the Australian Pacing Gold champion is a $1.90 favourite in the Youthful Stake.
Pleased with the filly’s progress, trainer Emma Stewart has no doubt the exciting daughter of Somebeachsomewhere can overcome the early obstacle.
Nostra Beach is one of four Stewart-prepared runners in the 1720-metre feature.
“She had a bit of a break after the APG and has come back up feeling terrific,” Stewart said. “Her work has been sensational and she’s ready to go again.
“Although the other three have drawn better than her, she is still the one to beat.”
Following her pending engagement Nostra Beach will be aimed at the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series, which begins with heats at Bendigo on June 20.
“The Sires’ is the next main aim with her,” Stewart said. “This run will sharpen her up before the heats in a fortnight.”
Stewart also has four runners in the colts’ and geldings’ edition of the Youthful Stake, with Poster Boy faring best in barrier four.
Also by Somebeachsomewhere, the two-year-old is a half-brother to Stewart’s multiple Group One winner, Yankee Rockstar.
“The draw has worked out in his favour, but all four will be hard to beat,” Stewart said.
