LAST week we published an article highlighting this journo’s liking for horses with white markings with a focus on numerous yearlings matching the description ahead of Sunday’s Australian Pacing Gold Sale.

A white blaze and feet on a flashy black or chestnut is something to be admired…yes I’ve watched too many John Wayne movies!

This morning another youngster – a colt – has come to our attention, complete with a pair of white socks and star on his face.

Set to enter the ring as Lot 106, the yearling is from good producer Graces Beach, which boasts three winners from three starters.

The dam’s progeny include Goodtime Sammy, which was unbeaten from four starts, including his APG heat and semi-final, before injury struck.

The family also includes APG Final winner, Exotic Strike.

Graces Beach’s latest offering is by APG graduate and multiple Group One winner, Restrepo.

Complete with two white socks and blaze along his nose, Restrepo is adding white to his progeny’s bloodline according to breeder, Ian Slater, who stands the stallion at Goodtime Lodge.

“He’s had a number of foals with dams who have no white, or previous foals with white, that are coming out with socks, stars, faces and so on,” Slater said.

“Restrepo is a wonderful looking individual and his passing those looks onto his kids…I’m confident they will get his ability too.”

Goodtime Lodge also have Lot 168 in the Sale – a colt by Bettors Delight from My Barbie Doll, which is the dam of six winners from eight starters.
