Graeme Anderson and Dexter Dunn look a formidable combination in later races at Winton on Sunday with Motu Moonbeam, Match Point and Highview Illusion.

“I’ve got three good chances and with a bit of luck they should all be thereabouts,” Anderson said.

After a good win at Invercargill three starts back, Motu Moonbeam has had issues her past two. In a mobile at Forbury Park on 13 August, her sulky wheel was struck early and the tyre eventually came off. Going from a stand at Forbury Park on 27 August, she broke at the start and took no part.

She’s back to a mobile this week in the Sunshine Beach Standing at Alabar Mobile Pace and Anderson reckons with a good start and no bad luck, she can be in it.

Oamaru winner Jetsdream has drawn inside Motu Moonbeam and looks a big threat. She did work at Gore and held well for third.

Match Point, drawn seven in the He’s Watching 1:46.8 Standing at Alabar Mobile Pace, is owned at Winton and unbeaten in two starts there. In a race full of chances, he stands out with his C5 rating in a mobile C2 contest. Match Point hasn’t raced since a couple of outings at Addington early in July but that doesn’t worry Anderson.

“He’s fresh up and goes well fresh,” he said, “he went good in Christchurch and should be hard to beat.”

Among the other hopes, good draws continue for the Butterworth Racing-owned C2 pacer Jaccka Mara who is due a win; the Butterworth Racing-owned C2 stablemate Run To Hide ran right up to his preview form when successful at Gore and looks promising;top form has taken Ultra Shok back to a C3 rating and he’s in line for a hat-trick; after breaking early in the running at Gore Machie Mach recovered to win, suggesting a repeat would not surprise; the Hamish Hunter-stablemates Devil May Care and Canardly Love are handy types who will be helped by the mobile.

Anderson’s hope in the A Rocknroll Dance Standing at Alabar Mobile Pace, Highview Illusion, is the winner of two of his six starts.

He is the first pacer raced by Dunedin owner Ray Chalklin who acquired him before his second win – at Forbury Park on 17 July.

Highview Illusion resumed there with a good third on 27 August and rates highly in this line-up.

“He’s no superstar but is in good form and looks a chance,” Anderson said.

Among his opposition is Tetrick, a son of It’s Ella, who won well at Invercargill but was a victim of circumstances at Gore.

His sulky wheel was struck early by another runner and lost its form during the running.

Jaclyn Smith lines up in the Rayners/Murdoch Refrigeration Mobile Pace for C0 claimers.

She beat a similar line-up of C0 claimers comfortably at Invercargill, won a six-horse workout there last Saturday, and looks a top chance to repeat.

Zenmach looks a good prospect in the Central Southland Freight/New Zealand Horse Transport Mobile Pace.

He was taken over by Geoff and Jude Knight late in July and given a couple of C0 two year old races at Addington before heading to his new home at Roxburgh.

The results were a fourth behind Franco Cristiano and then a comprehensive win on the last day of the season. He has an eight draw to deal with on Sunday but looks good enough to cope.
