30 November 2022 | HRNSW MEDIA | AMANDA RANDO

Leading NSW female driver Amanda Turnbull has had a busy 24 hours.

The Bathurst horsewoman competed in a heat of the Inter Dominion last night at Shepparton, Victoria, with her pacer Bundoran and fronts up at Bathurst tonight for 10 drives.

Turnbull has key drives in the Soldiers Saddle heats as well as the Breeders Challenge Regional qualifiers for two-year-old pacers.

Turnbull’s main drives in the Regional heats are on juveniles trained by her father Steve Turnbull and her ‘outside’ drive in those qualifiers is with the Jake Davis-trained Studleigh Melise.

The latter was unbeaten in her first four race starts and her first defeat was when third to Saveeon in a heat of the Breeders Challenge.

Studleigh Melise eventually won a heat and finished sixth in the Group 1 final. This will be Turnbull’s first drive behind the filly.

Turnbull finished second in last night’s Inter Dominion heat with Bundoran adding to the female dominance in the pacing heats.

All pacing heats of the Inter Dominion so far this series have been won by female trainers.

The iForm best bets for Wednesday:

Bathurst best bet

Race 9: Sporty Mary (8)

Does draw out but loved the way she hit the line last time and might be too classy here.

Bathurst next best

Race 5: Don’t Need An Excuse (2)

Has the pace to find the pegs and the run last time was encouraging.  Can go close.
