Following the abandonment of its raceday on Sunday, 13 December due to the severe storm and loss of power, the Akaroa TC with HRNZ has explored options for a replacement date.
With great support from the NZ Racing Board, HRNZ is delighted to advise that a new meeting has been scheduled for the Akaroa TC on Easter Monday, 28 March 2016.
This will enable the club to utilise the tremendous support it has received from sponsors and the wider industry following its unfortunate abandonment. The loss of its one day meeting would have had a severe impact on the club’s financial position so securing a replacement date is welcome news.
Unfortunately this will necessitate a replacement of the traditional Chertsey trials held on Easter Monday, however first priority had to be given to the totalisator club and returns to industry participants. HRNZ will review alternative options with the Chertsey club in the New Year.
