EXCEPTIONALLY well-credentialed stallion Modern Art has been recently purchased by Lochend Stud and will stand at the Maitland, New SouthWales, farm.

“We are very pleased to have such an exciting and proven stallion joining our roster,” said Paul Carmody owner of Lochend Stud.

“His results speak for themselves, he has a load of top class progeny with more than 40 earning over $100,000 and of course including the superstar up and coming youngster Lochinvar Art who was desperately unlucky not to collect another Group 1 last Sunday at the Breeders Challenge Final as well as Ultimate Art, the local star who achieved 38 wins and over $600,000 in prizemoney and won a major race every year from two through to a six-year-old.”

Modern Art has matched well with mares from all bloodlines including Beach Towel, Troublemaker, Bettors Delight, Armbro Operative and Village Jasper just to name a few.

Modern Art stands at 16 hands high and is a magnificent individual and highly fertile which makes it better for breeders all round.

He is superbly bred being by one of the greatest of all time in Artsplace and out of Wendy M Hanover who is a full-sister to super sire Western Hanover 1.50.8 and $2.5 million in earnings.

He is the sire of over 35 Group, Listed and Classic winners with over 470 winners bred in Australia alone.

Modern Art’s progeny will be eligible for the NSW Breeders Challenge, Breeders Challenge Blue Series and Blue Bonus’s if 100 per cent NSW bred plus the Bathurst Gold Crown and Breeders Crown.

He is standing at an unchanged Service fee of $3300 including GST with discounts available for multiple mares.

He will join Lochend’s other resident stallion in Shoobee’s Place, who himself has done a good job with a very limited number of opportunities in his first couple of seasons siring the good winners in Shoobee Doo, Tsunami Charlie and My Mels Place. He is standing at $2200 incl GSTwith multiple discounts available.
