1IT WAS a five star training and driving performance by father and son Phil and Reece Maguire at Wagga on Tuesday night finishing with four winners and two seconds from six starters.

They won with Drive The Dream, Im Johnny Jet, Simply Clever and Bettors Power and came in second with The Mighty Falcon and Chickies Boy.

Previously, their best feat was a training and driving double before they passed that mark and then Bettors Power made it four.

“I was confident they could all run a place at least,” Reece Maguire said.

“I have never had three winners before let alone four plus two seconds.”

Phil Maguire was glad to achieve the quadrella with his son.

“Definitely . . . we only have seven horses racing and they are ones that the owners have paid a bit of extra money for,” he said.

“Reece is going to New Zealand for six weeks in October to further his driving so for him to get four winners so early in his career is good for him.”

Reece won the first with Drive The Dream defeating his cousin Paul Diebert on Beau Romulus.

“It’s the first time we have been in a race together,” Reece said.

Drive The Dream got up close to the finish to maintain his consistent record this season with four wins and as many placings from 15 starts.

Im Johnny Jet is another of the Maguire stable who has been racing consistently and is owned in the same interests as Drive The Dream.

Im Johnny Jet has raced 42 times for 12 wins and earned over $50,000.

The rising star of the stable is Simply Clever who has won her past three starts at Wagga in ominous fashion.

The filly has only raced five times for four wins and is likely to go for a spell.

She put in some wrong strides at the 150m mark before regaining her composure.

Simply Clever is raced in similar interests to Bettors Power by Ray Moore and James Clyburn.

Bettors Power was sent out as favourite again and this time at start number 22 finally won after leading all of the way.
