6The Albion Park Harness Racing Club will play host to a bumper eleven race program this Saturday night.

And the card is filled with highlights including the first two-year-old event of the season plus another open class race which features the state’s favourite pacer, Destreos aka “King of the creek”.

The veteran pacer is having start number 399 and backs-up after winning on Tuesday afternoon for trainer Ken Rattray and driver Kelli Dawson.

Destreos holds the record for most wins at the famed Breakfast Creek oval with 68 victories.

The Gr.3 $30,000 Gurney Group of Companies Wayne Wilson Memorial Paleface Adios Classic has attracted a full field of twelve starters and the ideally drawn Maestro Bellini will command plenty of respect following his ultra-impressive Albion Park trial effort three weeks ago.

Prepared at Redcliffe by talented horseman Chris Petroff, Maestro Bellini rated a slick 1:56.3 defeating older rivals.

Also impressing at the trials recently were the Wayne Graham prepared duo January and Park Life.

The juvenile feature is listed as race 8.

Gambling giant UBET will offer a $20,000 Trifecta jackpot on the opening race.

And the opening event sees a competitive field assembled with several last start winners lining up in the 2138m mobile start event including Chattanoogachoochoo, All I Want, A Passion For Aces, Karloo Kix and Lachie Maguire.

Several other runners boast excellent and consistent recent form which only adds to the depth of the race.

A Quadrella jackpot of $25,000 is also programmed; the quaddie will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Again, the quaddie legs look open with several even races assembled meaning punters will get great value.

The first of 11 races is scheduled to start at 5.12pm.
