Many of Australasia’s leading stallions will be represented in the catalogue for the Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale to be conducted on Sunday, March 20 at the Bathurst Showground.
Art Major, the multiple Award winning juvenile sire, has three yearlings nominated for the sale, while Four Starzzz Shark, the sire of millionaire pacers Lennytheshark and Frith, has six.
Former ‘Derby King’ Courage Under Fire, the sire of Hunter Cup hero Smolda, will be represented by six youngsters, while Rock N Roll Heaven, last season’s leading first-crop sire, has four nominations.
The sale has attracted entries by 39 different stallions.
Other ‘Top Ten’ stallions with entries include Modern Art (4 lots), American Ideal (2) and Elsu (2), while exciting, young stallions represented in the catalogue include Roll With Joe (7), Always A Virgin (4), Sportswriter (3), Shadow Play (2), Changeover (2) and Tintin In America (1).
We Will See, a winner of $2.5million in North America, and the New Zealand-bred champions Auckland Reactor and Smiling Shard are the only first-crop stallions with progeny in the sale.
Stallions with the biggest drafts are Passmaster Hanover (16 lots), Aces N Sevens (12), Million Dollar Cam (8) and Major In Art and Roll With Joe with seven.
