The fairer sex has only ever one three Miracle Miles since the races inception back in 1967.
The great NZ mare Robin Dundee won the inaugural running of Australia’s famous mile race, it was then 30 years till West Australian mare Norms Daughter took the title in 1996 driven by Kellie Kersley and Baby Bling in 2013.
These stats lay heavily against the Shane Tritton trained former Kiwi mare Arms of An Angel, in Sunday’s 2016 Miracle Mile, but from the pole the daughter of Elsu will not die wondering, after the mares run in Chariots Of Fire when she broke in the score up and still put up an amazing performance to finish third.
The fabulous field of 8 will line up with Australia’s best two pacers Beautide a son of Bettors Delight and Inter-dominion and Victorian Cup champ Lennytheshark (Four Stazzz SharK) taking on the outstanding Kiwi Have Faith In Me (Bettors Delight).
Woodlands Stud based in New Zealand has their stallion’s represented by 5 runners Bettors Delight (3) while up and coming stallion American Ideal has two.
Another Kiwi nursery Nevele R has three runners representing former winner of the Mile Christian Cullen, while Alabar’s Elsu has Arms Of An Angel and Empire Stallion’s Four Stazzz Shark is represented by Lennytheshark.
Christian Cullen won the Miracle Mile himself back in 1998 has a chance to write his name into immortality record books if one of his sons can claim the 2016 running of the Group 1 Mile.
