This stunning colt by Art Major consigned by leading New South Wales nursery Pepper Tree Farm is out of the Christian Cullen mare Keppel Bay.
Keppel Bay won the 2008 Pacing Gold Final as a 2 year old as well as the Breeders Crown Final that same year and has left an Australian Pacing Gold winner already herself, in Jilliby Jitterbug who claimed the filliesGold Final in 2015.
Lot 475’s second dam is the studbook blue hen Nickle Castle a Butler BG mare who has produced not only Keppel Bay to win the Australian Pacing Gold final but also Blatant Lie, who won the2003 Gold as a 3 year old in Melbourne driven by Kerryn Manning and Mr Nickle won the 2 year old in 2011 driven by Greg Sugars.
Nickle Castle was the dam of 14 foals 13 of which made the race track and 10 found their way into the winners stall was bred by Kevin Seymour’s Solid Earth Pty Ltd.
Nickle Castle was purchased as a broodmare by leading breeder John Bagshaw former President of the Australian Harness Racing Council.Bagshaw in 2011also chaired a group known as the Australian Breeding Panel which identified issues within the breeding industry.
This family traces back to Black Betty the U300 family.
Lot 475 a strapping colt by Art Major from Keppel Bay many predict may be the sales topper in Sydney’s APG sale this Saturday.
