ASTUTE horseman Mario Borg plans to produce his ‘Magnum’ look if given the opportunity to be in a presentation photo tomorrow night.
Borg has several runners engaged at the Globe Derby program, including The Male Model in the final event on the card.
Making his debut for Borg last weekend, The Male Model battled on gamely when sixth after working overtime in the ‘death seat’.
“Happy enough” with the run, Borg believes the son of Muscle Mass can walk the runway into the winners’ circle.
“I thought he went well given how tough he had to do it,” Borg said. “I was happy enough with the way he went and his work this week has been solid.
“If he happens to win, I’ll certainly try my best Magnum, but let’s face it, no one can do it as beautifully as the world’s greatest male model, Derek Zoolander!
“I have Magic Owens in the same race, which I will be driving, but if The Male Model wins, I will get in the photo with Gaita (Pullicino, driver) and rope her into the Magnum as well.”
Third at his previous outing, Magic Owens has drawn to search for the lead from two, with The Male Model the widest runner on the front row in four.
“There is not much between them, but Magic Owens is a little more forward,” Borg said. “So I would give him a slight edge.”
