22 June 2023 | Duncan Dornauf for Tasracing
It was a feast for Tassie harness racing fans last weekend, with 19 races held across meetings in Hobart and Launceston.
There is plenty of interest in the three- and four-year-olds as we count down to the $80,000 Beautide in Hobart on 5 August.
The Stars
De Goey – made an impressive race track return with a dominant win in the Sires Produce in Hobart on Sunday afternoon. Rohan Hillier positioned the Rohan Hadley gelding outside the leader for the final 1500m, where he proved too strong for his rivals.
Rackemup Tigerpie – the former Victorian recorded his third win of the season when he was able to rundown short-price favourite Harjeet, in the open class race of the weekend.
Mickey Oh – took his record to nine wins from 14 starts and made it two wins from two starts for the preparation when scoring in a 70 to 79 event on Sunday, coming from back in the field to record a half-head victory.
Tammy Langley – prepared a double on Friday’s Launceston program, including the well-supported Our Ruby Rose.
