Reinsman Will Rixon admits it will be hard to catch Cameron Hart’s lead in the NSW Drivers’ Premiership.
With 17 wins separating Rixon from the top of the tally, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful start to the season and currently sits second having driven 53 winners for the term.
Rixon added to his record taking out the Drivers Invitational Series at Flood Relief ’23 in Eugowra on Tuesday.
He finished third in the first heat with Artistic Trouble and won the second heat with American Shuffle.
Rixon was the reserve for the series, gaining a late call to replace suspended reinsman Josh Gallagher.
“To be the reserve and come out with the win is great,” said Rixon.
“It’s all for a great cause and it’s great to be part of it and have the opportunity.”
Rixon heads to Penrith tonight with a full book of drives across the eight-race card.
