1Hunter Valley couple Aaron Garaty and Kylie Barnes welcomed their first child, Chloe into the world last Saturday morning.  The happy parents have been enjoying the special bonding time with their daughter and the youngster has already spent some time out at the stables.

“Yes Kylie and Chloe have been out to the stables a couple of times this week, it’s great to have them around and we are both loving being parents,” Garaty said.

“I think Kylie is very keen to get back amongst the horses, she mixed some feeds up the other day but that’s about all I’ll let her do at the moment.”

While the couple have enjoyed the time with their new addition, Garaty will be back at work this Saturday night when he takes a team of horses to compete at Newcastle.  In race one he will drive Mink Stride, a horse that has been knocking on the door after placing three times in its last five starts.

“The draw on Saturday night probably suits Mink Stride, from the second row we will be able to follow the speed and shouldn’t be too far away when they settle down.

“Angelas Image in race two has drawn in close, she should be handy enough and has been racing well so I wouldn’t think she will be too far away either.”

Persona has drawn barrier one in race four and was a recent all the way winner at Maitland after drawing well.

“Persona has led at its last two starts, so after drawing well on Saturday the plan will be to go forward at the start.

“He’s taking on some nice horses and it is over the sprint trip, but he is going well enough at the moment to be considered a chance.”

Garaty believes his best winning chance on the program is Master Macca in race five.  The recent stable addition pulled hard last start and Garaty is hoping for marked improvement.

“We’ve only given him one start, but I thought the effort was really good considering he wouldn’t settle, I think with a bit of luck he can be right in the finish.

“Bee Bee Ell is the other horse we have in, it is only having its second run for us, she wanted to over race last start too but she hasn’t been doing that in her work at home.”
