It is the talk of the racing industry and now Fantasy Harness Racing is broadening its horizons with an interstate and international invasion.
Harness Racing New South Wales’ innovative Fantasy game has made a giant impression on the Australian racing landscape and with the prestigious Carnival of Miracles underway, things have been taken up a notch.
When Round 7 of Fantasy Harness Racing re-opens for business on Saturday night, 41 new drivers will be available for selection. Keen Fantasy Harness Racing players will notice they were added to the driver’s pool overnight.
With an influx of New Zealanders as well as high-profile drivers from Queensland and Victoria calling Sydney home throughout February and March, their addition will add a new dimension to the inaugural season of Fantasy Harness Racing.
The new group of available drivers also includes a number of New South Wales based participants who have been accruing results on tracks across the state throughout the first six weeks of the Fantasy season.
“This is incredibly exciting for the Fantasy Harness Racing game and adds a new element to what has already been a fascinating and intriguing curation of results throughout the first six weeks,” Harness Racing New South Wales head of marketing and Fantasy Harness Racing Commissioner Paul Cochrane said.
“The year 1 response from both our established and brand new fans has been very encouraging and I have no doubt the addition of new drivers to choose from will escalate that even further.”
“Everywhere I go and right across the racing landscape people are talking about Fantasy Harness Racing, their scores and what each race result means in this context which is fantastic. If people are talking about Harness Racing it is a wonderful thing for our industry.”
The introduction of new drivers coincides with the commencement of the Carnival of Miracles which launches with the Newcastle Mile tonight and continues with the Group 1 Chariots of Fire at Tabcorp Park Menangle tomorrow.
With multiple Group 1 races to be contested, culminating in Australia’s greatest race – the Miracle Mile on 4 March – there are plenty of points up for grabs for astute Fantasy Harness Racing players.
The game is also set to be a rollercoaster of points-scoring fluctuations with triple points up for grabs on each of the Group 1 races.
