The extremely stylish O’Brien Award winner Control The Moment p,2, 1:49.4s; 3,1:48.2 ($1,227,832) begin his NA stud career in the 2017 breeding season.
Trained throughout his career by Brad Maxwell, Control The Moment enjoyed a nearly flawless rookie season, winning eight of nine starts which included the Metro elimination and final, Breeders Crown elimination, the Nassagaweya and a sweep of the Dream Maker series at Mohawk. He concluded his freshman campaign with $347,757 earned along with the title of Canada’s two-year-old pacing colt of 2015.
His accomplishments on the track at three included victories in the Meadowlands Pace elimination and final, where he earned his life record of 1:48.2, the Cane Pace, as well as the Hempt Memorial elimination. Control The Moment’s racing career was curtailed by a career ending injury early in September of 2016.
A son of Well Said, Control The Moment’s dam is the Life Sign mare Lifesliltreasure, a winner of $415,000 during her career which included numerous stakes wins in Western Canada before relocating to Ontario.
A young sire on the rise, Control The Moment has owners and trainers taking notice, he now has the very impressive Average Earnings Per Starter ( in this country ) of $24,451
His latest winner LION QUEEN (bred by K J F Charles ) won on Monday coming home in the hot time of 27.7 and 27.1 to win by 7.5 metres for Mike Reed and his owners Swandoo Harness Racing Syndicate.
Lion Queen is out of the all-American mare Lilianna Beauty winner of $135,274.
