Reinswoman Steph Morris is on the mend following a race fall at Penrith last night.
Husband David Morris, who was also involved in the incident as well, said Steph is a “very lucky girl”.
“Steph’s very a very lucky girl but unlucky as well,” David said.
“She has no broken bones and no major injuries but a lump on her head and a concussion.
“She is back home and resting up.
“It could have been so much worse so we have to count our lucky stars.
“We are so appreciative of all the support we’ve received and all the phone calls, I’m still trying to get back to people who have left messages.
“From the stewards to the track staff and all of the trainers and drivers, we are so thankful.”
Steph’s drive Triple VC fell to the track in the home straight, catapulting her in the air while David was following with his drive Bell Riverkid.
Reinsman Jake Bates was also involved in the fall with Megs Monaro and was cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
All horses escaped major injury.
