Goulburn horseman Grant Forrest not only won the last metropolitan trotters race for the season at Menangle last Saturday but also trained the quinella.
Forrest drove the winner Thebestbourbon with his other horse Orlando Strom in second with driver Will Rixon at the reins.
Forrest will take a big team to Goulburn today with six starters including four of the eight starters in race one.
Meanwhile, Harness Racing NSW will increase the fleet of mobile barriers having ordered new units for the Hunter, Western and Riverina Regions.
At a cost of $250,000 each, the three new units will be strategically located to allow for a sustainable back-up resource to the ‘green machine’ TAB mobile barriers.
“HRNSW improved the fleet in 2018 with five new units relying on much older mobile barriers as back-ups whilst at some tracks they are the primary starting vehicle,” HRNSW Chief Executive John Dumesny said.
“Those back-up units are up to 20-years-old and whilst reliable it is necessary that the future is covered especially when there is a six-month delivery time from the manufacturers.”
