Young star Amanda Turnbull will have the drive on classy speedster Mach Beauty in the first two rounds of Perth Inter Dominion heats.
Trainer Shane Tritton was forced to find a replacement when regular driver Lauren Panella copped a suspension at Menangle last Saturday night.
“Lauren just had to cop it. She’ll be back for the third round of heats and final,” Tritton said.
“We’ve booked Amanda (Turnbull) to fill-in. We think she’ll be able to get Mach Beauty keen in his ras like Lauren does.”
Tritton noted Mach Beauty was “lazy” when driven by WA star Gary Hall Jr in a solid workout between races at Gloucester Park last Friday night.
Hall Jr’s best hope of winning the Inter Dominion comes with emerging five-year-old Waylade.
Waylade showed he was primed with a sharp Byford trial win over stablemate My Hard Copy last Sunday.
They went a 1min56.4sec last mile with closing splits of 56.0 and 27.4sec.
Another Inter Dominion hopeful to trial last Sunday was Victorian visitor Major Crocker at Pinjarra.
The Vince Vallelonga-trained five-year-old was driven by Colin Brown to win by 12min a 1min57.5sec mile rate for 2185m.
Also at Pinjarra, Inter Dominion second favourite Philadelphia Man worked impressively in between trials with a galloping pacemaker.
Fields and draws for Friday night’s opening round of Inter Dominion heats are our at lunchtime (NZ time) tomorrow (Tuesday).
