IF SHE shows as much energy as her namesake, Sadie Jayne will take a power of beating in Friday night’s Southern Cross Final at Globe Derby.
Already boasting a perfect record from three starts at the venue, Sadie Jayne is named after trainer Alyce Finnis’ daughter.
The equine edition was also bred and is owned by Finnis along with her husband, Jayson.
Also bred by the couple, Sadie Jayne the human is a fun-loving three-year-old, who was proving to be a handful for Finnis during an interview for this article!
“We decided to stay in Adelaide after last week’s heats and enjoy a bit of a holiday as we work the horses for Friday night’s Finals,” Finnis said.
“Sadie is certainly making the most of the opportunity to run a muck.
“We’re actually at Bounce now and she’s on the go which means you really can’t take your eye off her!”
As for Sadie Jayne the pacer, she earned a berth in the decider by leading throughout from barrier two in her heat.
This time around the filly will begin from gate four.
“She does seem to like Globe Derby, with each of her wins coming there,” Finnis said. “I don’t know if she can make it four wins this time as there are some pretty nice fillies in the race.
“It’s a bit of a class rise for her, but she has been working well and hopefully can run among the placings.
“Elegant was very impressive winning her heat and is the one to beat even from the inside of the second row.”
